G. Scott Dillon Named President and CEO of MEDS

October 20, 2009

New leadership will help company expand throughout the Midwest

O’FALLON, IL (May 12, 2009) - MEDS, a physician-owned emergency department staffing and management service, announced today that it has named G. Scott Dillon as president and CEO. Mr. Dillon brings more than 25 years of experience in clinical outsourcing management and hospital-based physician management, most recently as chief operating officer of NES Holding Inc.

MEDS, based in O’Fallon, IL, with a strong presence throughout that state, plans to expand into surrounding states such as Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

"Scott is a recognized leader in the growth and development of clinical outsourcing, with an impressive record of success in driving growth while delivering high-quality management solutions," said Dr. William Cruzen, chairman and founder of MEDS. "He will provide crucial leadership as we expand MEDS from its base in Southern Illinois."

"The strong reputation and loyal customer base MEDS has built since it was founded in 1983 gives us a firm foundation from which to expand our provision of emergency department management services to mid-size and larger hospitals through the Midwest," Mr. Dillon said. "MEDS has a bright future, and I am delighted to be part of it."

Prior to joining MEDS, Mr. Dillon was chief operating officer of NES Holding Inc., a Tiburon, CA-based provider of emergency medicine, hospitalist, and revenue-cycle management services. During that time, Mr. Dillon led the company’s turnaround by reducing operating costs and revitalizing the company’s sales and marketing efforts.

Mr. Dillon helped to deliver similar results as chief operating officer of Sterling Healthcare, a provider of emergency medicine and hospital medicine, where he also led the company’s entry into anesthesia, radiology, and critical care medicine services.

Mr. Dillon’s other healthcare management experience includes serving as senior vice president for business development for InteCardia, a cardiology practice management company; and executive vice president at Transcend Services, a publicly traded medical records and transcription outsourcing firm.
